Course Objective

The course will give students fundamental and advanced knowledge about humanitarian logistics and the design, management and measurement of supply chains in the humanitarian context. Disaster relief as well as logistics in developing countries will be covered. The scope of the course is to provide an overview of the specific context of humanitarian logistics and a set of important available concepts, models and tools. The course will furnish an understanding of the important role of logistics and supply chain management in the humanitarian context. It will also convey the knowledge and skills to methodically analyses needs, and consequently to design, manage and measure the supply chain.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be obtain to the necessary knowledge about the fundamental organization in disaster logistics in general,
2   Be able to learn the fundamental processes and be able to comment on the subjects about disaster logistics,
3   Be able to learn the developing role of the public administrator concerning the facts which is required risk and disaster logistics,
4   Be able to use theories, models and tools to describe, analyse and evaluate supply chains in a humanitarian context.
5   Be able to understand how this (may) impact on the design of the supply chain
