Course Objective

The objective is to provide students with knowledge on epidemiology of disasters, the impact of disasters on public health, rapid health assessment, organisation of health services, environmental problems, risk groups, mother-child health issues, disaster prevention and preparedness.
and disaster legislation in Türkiye.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to define epidemiology of disasters
2   Be able to explain the population health effects of disasters
3   Be able to discuss public health problems and approach to these issues,
4   Be able to apply rapid health assessment
5   Be able to define organisation of health services in disasters
6   Be able to explain environmental problems and communicable diseases after disasters
7   Be able to define disaster legislation in Türkiye
