Course Objective

To have basic knowledge about history of sleep medicine, and sleep in newborns, children, adults and the elderly.
Have knowledge about sleep and mechanisms of sleep

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To have knowledge on the phylogenetic development of sleep
2   To have knowledge on the scientific definition of sleep and the identification and correction of inaccurate information related to sleep.
3   To have knowledge on the maturation of sleep and healthy and unhealthy development of sleep.
4   To have knowledge on age specific sleep phases ,patterns and ratios.
5   To have knowledge on the functional anatomy and physiology of sleep.
