Course Objective

With the death of Alexander in 323 BC, new kingdoms were established in Anatolia after the struggle between his commanders. It is aimed to learn the sculpture styles and types seen in Hellenistic Anatolia by analysing the sculpture types that existed in Anatolia before the death of Alexander and the new styles and sculpture schools that emerged after the establishment of kingdoms.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To learn the characteristics of sculpture in Anatolia in the early Hellenistic period
2   To learn the changing and developing sculpture art with the changing political structure with the establishment of kingdoms in the Hellenistic period
3   Recognition of each Hellenistic period kingdom by learning its own sculpture style
4   Understanding the importance of the sculpture schools in Anatolia in the Hellenistic period and their influence on Hellenistic art
