Course Objective

This course aims to enhance student s knowledge on the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) by providing the structure of basic and high level standards for financial assets, inventories, tangibles and intangibles, short-term and long-term liabilities, equity, leasing, cash flow, foreign currency translations and consolidation under IFRS.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   interpret and evaluate the aim of the conceptual framework.
2   demonstrate their knowledge about the recognition and valuation criteria for financial reporting items.
3   evaluate the importance of applying different accounting policies for financial reporting.
4   demonstrate their knowledge about consolidated entities and their financial reporting differences through parent-subsidiary relationship.

1. The learner will clearly describe the structure and purpose of the conceptual framework.
2. The learner will analyze and evaluate the different standards.
3. The learner will apply different accounting policies for all the financial statements.
4. The learner will compare and discuss the differences between single and consolidated entities.

2. Attending at least 70 percent of lectures is mandatory.
