Course Objective

Aims of this course are to teach basic concepts of computer systems and develop attending students basic running skills of operating systems (Windows XP), internet and office applications (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access ve Outlook)

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Able to learn basic computer terms
2   Able to understand tasks and functions of hardware parts
3   Able to run Windows operating system and adjust control settings
4   Able to research on internet and familiar to internet services
5   Able to create, format document, create table, adjust programs and documents functions in MS Word application program
6   Able to create pages, format cells, add formulas, adjust programs and documents functions in MS Excel application program
7   Able to create presentation slides, adjust slide setup, slide design and slide animation, adjust programs and presentations specifications in MS PowerPoint application program
8   Able to create database, add tables to related database, associate tables, add data to tables, create forms for data entry, query data in MS Access database application program
9   Able to adjust e-mails and appointments via MS Outlook, send and receive e-mails, adjust MS Outlook
