Course Objective

Aim of the course is to make student able to create a unique animation character with his/her own style and design a storyboard from a text.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Will be able to gain his/her own drawing style,
2   Will be able to produce characters easy for animation,
3   Will be able to write his/her own short animation script,
4   Will be able to transform his/her script in to an animation,
5   Will be able to have the theoretical knowledge about different kinds of animation styles and maners,
6   Will be able to fallow the area and be open minded,
7   Will be able to have material knowledge,
8   Will be able to gain time management, studying in studio and work discipline.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Seminar: General introduction about animation and its history.
2 Seminar: Examining character designs from different studios and styles.
3 Character making by means of ideal human form analyze: Informing and sketch.
4 Elimination of sketches and practice.
5 Working on half human half animal mixture character designs and two animal mixture character designs: Informing and sketch.
6 Election of sketches and practice.
7 Experimental practice of stop motion.
8 Cel animation exercise.
9 Cel animation exercise.
10 Cel animation exercise. Seminar: Information about Writing a story and creation of script.
11 Practice on short story and script constitution.
12 Seminar: Information about creating a storyboard Transforming script in to a storyboard.
13 Transforming script in to a storyboard and cel animation practice / stop motion practice
14 cel animation practice / stop motion practice
