Course Objective

The aim of the course is to get each student to experience the practice of creation of art; by making suggestions for project themes in order to aid the interpretation and individualization processes of the students, with discussions about the technique, form and context of the works produced.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   A project presentation; thereafter a presentation and discussion of the ideas that come up, in the form of visual notes.
2   To encourage the students to experiment with tools such as photography, videos and performances in addition to painting --when appropriate.
3   To discuss typical samples in order to benefit from various disciplines, and to aid the theoretical understanding of the subject with help of reading materials.
4   The works produced will be evaluated in the context of their references to art history.
5   The subject will be theoretically reinforced with the aid of reading materials.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

To start a sustainable dialog with the students through mutual conversations about their "works", and identifying the references to contemporary art by making reading / watching suggestions in parallel to the works produced.
