Course Objective

The objective of Turkish Language Course is to enable the comprehension of the structural and operational features of Turkish; and to enable the acquisition of the proper and fine use of the language which is a means of written and spoken expression.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to explain the features of language and its importance in human and social life.
2   To be able to explain the connection between language and culture.
3   To be able to explain the place of Turkish among the languages around the world.
4   To be able to explain the information about the historical periods of Turkish.
5   To be able to have a more sensitive and conscious point of view towards language.
6   To be able to explain the phonetic structure and features of Turkish.
7   To be able to explain the characteristics of corporate writing and correspondence types and to create such articles.
8   To be able to explain the features of scientific and academic writing and to create such kinds of articles.
9   To be able to use Turkish correctly, fluently and effectively in writing anda talking.
10   To be able to distinguish the use of words and sentences with different semantic features.
11   To be able to recognize, distinguish and produce different types of written expression.
12   To be able to recognize and distinguishing different types of oral expression, making oral presentations.
13   To be able to explain the important examples of written and oral expression types in Turkish literary history.
14   To be able to prevent, distinguish and correct errors that may be made in written and oral expression.
