Course Objective

The student will learn educational technologies; where and how to use these technologies; and for DKAB courses they will learn how to design educational materials.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define the technology in instruction, media and material concepts.
2   Choose, develop and use materials according to the media.
3   Choose and use the material according to the goal.
4   Assess the developed materials according to the criterions.
5   Compare classical educational Technologies and properties.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Definition of technology, engine and technique, science and technique, organization and technique, technical operation and technical event, technique and culture, relations between technique and society.
2 General definitions of education, technology and educational technology.
3 Historical Development of educational technology.
4 Definiton of learning. Relation of teaching-learning theories and educational Technologies.
5 Usage and definitions of the classical educational Technologies (blackboard, whiteboard, magnetic board, fabric covered board, turntable, sand board and bulletin board).
6 Usage and definitions of the classical educational Technologies (written materials, graphics, Models and samples, small and big pictures, posters and bills, press clippings, cardboard activities, dioramas and trips).
7 Usage and definitions of the modern educational Technologies adressing visual and aural senses ( Electronic board, telephone, radio, cassette and CD, tape recorder and stereo, lamination, camera (Digital and classical), pick-up and disk, and VCD and DVDs
8 Mid-Term Exam
9 Usage and definitions of the modern educational Technologies presentation Technologies (slide projector, overhead projectors, elmo, opaque projector, data projector, film projectors, LCD pannels).
10 The usage of computer in educational system. The history of computer, the structure of computer. The theories effetcs the computerized education. The methods of computer usage in education, The definitions of computer assisted education (CAE) and comput
11 Definiton and historical Development of internet. Basic properties of internet. Internet and education applications.
12 The usage of television for educational goals and preparing the educational Programs.
13 Definition, methods and historical development of distance education, the Technologies used in distance education.
14 Assessment intended for prepared materials. General assessment of course.
