Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine, at an introductory level, basic concepts specific to subjects such as the basic approaches that form the basis of psychology, scientific method, building blocks of the brain, conditioning, developmental periods, social behavior, health, stress and coping, behavioral disorders and therapy.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Describe basic concepts in relation to psychology.
2   Describe basic theories in relation to psychology.
3   Summarize basic principles in relation to different subfields of psychology discipline.
4   Explain the relationships between different subfields of psychology and other related disciplines.
5   Compare the differences and similarities between psychology and other disciplines.
