Course Objective

Development dynamics of the maritime industry directly associated with marine technology. The purpose of this course, students taking the course in basic marine science and culture, as well as to teach the technological developments in the maritime industry.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Purpose of marine and coastal seas and use of seas - to gain information about the balance of protection,
2   Classification seas and learning of physical, chemical biological properties of the sea
3   The recognition of marine research objectives and Equipments ,To gain information about the the recognition of marine research objectives and Equipments, Positioning Systems at sea, CTD, bathymetry systems, etc.
4   To gain information about Research marine species and non-living resources
5   To gain information about Ship types, features, and technologies
6   To gain information about Technological advances in coastal structures and use of coastal

1 Introduction to the general classification of Marine Science and Technology, purpose and importance of marine research
2 Useage of sea for marine and usage aspects of dimensions development from the shore to the ocean
3 Classification of marine from the shore to the ocean and explaination characteristics.
4 Classification of the seas, The classification of the worldseas rating
5 Marine Physical, Chemical, and Biological Characteristics
6 Problems related to the use of the seas and solution methods
7 Midterm Exam
8 Actors affecting the development of marine technology, reason of undersea and over sea research survey techonologies and its development.Characteristics of the used equipment (positioning, CTD, sounding etc.) in seas, place of use and intended purpose.
9 Research on marine environment,and for examining developed technologies, history of the development technologies. Fishing technology.
10 Related to marine technology and development discussions and homework presentations
11 Offshore structures and Design of marine systems with offshore platforms
12 Ship technology, reasons of technological development in ships,its history
13 Current practices in the use of coastal and its problems.
