Course Objective

To increase the knowledge and to improve the application skills related to technologic rehabilitation in neurological diseases.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Knows the relation between the damaged brain, neural plasticity and neurorehabilitation technology.
2   2. Knows about technological developments used in neurological rehabilitation.
3   3. Discusses and design technological rehabilitation with assessment and treatment in different clinical problems.
4   4. Gains knowledge and skills about rehabilitation technology and neurorehabilitation literature.

5 Upper extremity robotics - technology and clinical applications in stroke / spinal cord injuries
6 The place of technology and clinical applications in lower extremity robotics (locomotion)
7 Virtual reality in neurorehabilitation
8 Specific aspects in neurorehabilitation technology: Passive systems against robots
9 The role of Stem Cell transplantation in neurorehabilitation
10 Specific aspects in neurorehabilitation technology: Evaluation and safety
11 Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) in spinal cord and stroke patients
12 EMG, ENG, Biofeedback
13 Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
14 The role of assistive technology in neurorehabilitation
