Course Objective

To teach temporary care and non-pharmacological applications using available equipment at the injury site for the injured individual to save his life or prevent bad prognosis until the maintenance of health care professionals' aid in case of a life threatening condition.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explains general first aid concepts, defines first aid.
2   Defines basic life support, knows the initial evaluation stages of the injured.
3   Explains first aid practices in cases of trauma, bleeding, fracture, shock, burn and freezing.
4   Knows the general rules of transportation procedures of injured person/patient.

2 Human body and vital signs
3 First aid in bleeding
4 First aid in shock
5 First aid in consciousness disorders
6 First aid in fractures, dislocations, sprains and cramps
7 First aid in burns
8 First aid in freezing
9 First aid in electrical shock, heat and sun stroke
10 First aid in poisoning
11 First aid in foreign dodies in the eye, ear and nose
12 First aid in asphyxia
13 Patient/Injured transfer techniques
14 First aid for trauma
