Course Objective

To be able to learn movement concepts and basic movement skills, object control movements, to perform warm-up, stretching, basic posture positions.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explain the basic properties of movement education program
2   Apply the skills in the content of the movement education program
3   Prepares lesson plan for movement education program
4   Defines activities of movement education program acoording to steps of motor improvment,
5   Explains the education methods with the examples which are using in movement education.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Purpose of movement education, general concepts, dissemination forms
2 Ways of warming up, the importance of warming up
3 Movement concepts, basic movement skills
4 Assistance shapes and cascading techniques
5 Displacement movements (walking, running, sliding steps, jumping, climbing, etc.)
6 Animal walks
7 Mid-term exam
8 Balancing movements (bending, turning, swinging, jumping, landing, pushing, pulling, etc.)
9 Balancing movements (Static-dynamic balance movements, glider, basic postures, sitting, body grips)
10 Object control movements (use an object, throwing, holding, hitting, etc.)
11 Rhythm training
12 Practice basic movements with music
13 Developing conditional and coordinative abilities
14 Unit training preparation and long-term lesson plan preparation
