Course Objective

Sociology of education is a discipline that examines group dynamism, relations, interaction, integration and dissolution in educational institutions by adapting the data of sociology to educational activities.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Will be able to explain the basic concepts and development of educational sociology.
2   Define society, education and social institutions.
3   Compare various theories in educational sociology.
4   Evaluate the theories of educational sociology.
5   Evaluate the social functions of education and schools.
