Course Objective

The course aims to apply soil and production well drilling plan, apply to take of disturbed and undisturbed soil samples, apply to some permeability and soil field test, pumping test in production well.

1   Ability to calculate and prepare the components of drilling circulation fluid
2   Ability to perform drilling mud experiments
3   Ability to report test data
4   Ability to interpret test results
5   Ability to recognize the effects of chemicals used to improve the physical properties of mud

13 PH measurement and water hardness reduction calculations
14 Mud buoyancy factor calculations and proof in laboratory environment
15 Improving the physical properties of drilling mud with polymer additives, determining the properties of Ocma quality bentonite

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The course is taught in a lecture, mostly includes field study in drilling site. Students use drilling machine and make field test.
