Course Objective

It aims to teach information about the formation and extraction of stones found in nature, the chemical properties, cutting methods and samples of precious and semi-precious stones.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to conceptually learn gemology terminology and science
2   Knows the formation process and extraction of stones found in nature.
3   Knows the chemical properties of precious and semi-precious stones.
4   Knows the cutting shapes and examples of precious and semi-precious stones.
5   Knows natural minerals, synthetic and imitation ornamental stones used as ornamental stones.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

This course will be taught in the classroom as a theoretical lecture. While teaching the subject, the instructor will create a discussion environment with the students in the form of questions and answers.
