Course Objective

The aim of lesson; The student learning the definition of the material, can be used how to understand jewelry of different materials, and to be able to information for using jewelry making, to learn in jewelery basic techniques used and make your own designs.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to define the concept of material by learning the materials.
2   Be able to classifiy to Jewelry items. Jewelry materials and design data ability to combine.
3   Be able to implement and produce designs.
4   Be able to produce jewelry using basic jewellery techniques.
5   Identifying problems that may be encountered in production and resolving them.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Definition and classification of materials. The importance to make test for metarial usability in jewelry.
2 Teaching jewelry and jewelery items, showing production methods on the example
3 Explaining the production of a bezel setting ring and making out the production steps on the metal.
4 Demonstrating the construction of wedding ring curved wire in a rolling mill and applying it with the students.
5 Preparing the stone setting design, making in suitability with jewelry techniques.
6 To explain different techniques for product applications. (explaining and demonstrating the construction of works selected from examples according to the preference of the class)
7 Student project
8 Midterms
9 Jewellery shaping methods are explained and showing on sample design.
10 Introducing methods of combining precious metal with different materials.
11 Explaining wire preparation techniques, theaching to be used to materials, tools and machines. Explaining the application rules and practices to avoid making mistakes
12 Applying the best combination methods to the student project.
13 Explaining color applications in jewelry and showing examples. Making student projects.
