Course Objective

The aim of this course is to teach the production methods and properties of inorganic matter and to Introduce the sectors that produce inorganic matter to the students.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to sort the production methods of inorganic materials and compounds.
2   To be able to explain the types and production methods of cement.
3   To be able to define the production methods of industrial acids.
4   To be able to specify the basic production methods of ceramic.
5   To be able to sort the production methods of glass.
6   To be able to specify the inorganic salts and their production methods.

1 Water and purification methods of water.
2 Preparation of boiler feed water.
3 Production of sulphur and inorganic sulphur compounds.
4 Production of sulphur and inorganic sulphur compounds.
5 Production of nitrogen and inorganic nitrogen compounds.
6 Production of nitrogen and inorganic nitrogen compounds.
7 Production of hydrochloric acid and some inorganic compounds.
8 Mid-Term Exam
9 Lime and cement production.
10 Lime and cement production.
11 Production of inorganic fertilizer.
12 Production of sodium carbonate (soda ash) and ordinary salt.
13 Glass industry.
14 Brick, ceramic and porcelain industry.
