Course Objective

The aim of this course is to teach the concept of quantitative analysis in analytical chemistry and to perform its applications.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to perform quantitative analysis using gravimetric method.
2   To be able to define the process steps of volumetric analysis.
3   To be able to apply the methods of acidimetry, alkalimetry and argentometry analysis in volumetric analysis.
4   To be able to perform quantitative analysis using the complexometric applications of EDTA.
5   To be able to perform titration applications based on the oxidation-reduction (redox) reactions.
6   To be able to select the appropriate volumetric or gravimetric method for quantitative analysis of the sample to be analyzed.

Assessment Criteria

The six learning outcomes will be assessed by mid-term (LO-1, LO-2, LO-3) and final exams (LO-1, LO-2, LO-3, LO-4, LO-5, LO-6).

The students have to attend 70% of the courses and 80% of the application courses.
