Course Objective

It is aimed to provide using information technologies in the design of fashion accessories products along with preparing visualization and presentation stages by 2D computer software programs in accordance with design criterion.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to make and prepare design in accordance with design criterion in the design of fashion accessories products.
2   To be able to transform creative and unique ideas into design by using computer technologies and to be able to solve problems
3   To be able to follow innovation in accordance with computer aided designs.
4   To be able to use computer software in the design of product groups related to his/her area
5   To be able to apply his/her theoretical knowledge of information technologies in the design of fashion accessories product.

Course Contents

1 Introducing computer software.
2 Examining visualization programs and applications related to technology in fashion accessories design.
3 Introducing the Project: providing information about research, sketch and visualization time period.
4 Evaluating research results, carrying out sketch stage aimed at Project purpose and concept.
5 Determining creative, innovative and unique sketches in conformity with the aim of the Project.
6 Visualization of designs with 2D computer software.
7 Evaluating the application of model with the petit jury of the Project.
8 II. Introducing the project: Informing about the time period of research, sketch and visualization.
9 Evaluation the results of research, carrying out the sketch section in line with the aim of the Project and the concept.
10 Determining creative, innovative and unique sketches in conformity with the aim of the Project.
11 Visualization of designs with 2D computer software.
12 Evaluating the application of model with the petit jury of the Project.
13 Evaluation of the projects prepared with using information technologies by the students and discussion of its results.
14 Carrying out the presentation and evaluation of the projects by the end of year evaluation jury.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1.Information related to computer software is provided within the scope of course; information is given in relation to the usage of this software in terms of design, visualization and presentation of fashion accessories products.

2. Initiative of the Project assigned within the concept of course, is performed. (name, purpose of the Project, calendar of the Project, requirements in the process of Project).

3.During the process of assigned Project (from basic to particular), researches of sketch, computer-aided design, visualization and presentation stages are prepared.

4.Model execution is requested according to the subject of the Project. .

5.At the end of the Project, related to the designs, which planning and visualization is performed by the support of computer software, their control for the conformity with the project, being innovation, creative and unique and the fact that process is performed in the correct way, are evaluated by a jury participated by other educators as well.
In the evaluation period, there are research, sketch files, design sheets and a model if available.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

1. The student will design innovative, unique, creative fashion accessories products in conformity with the aim of the project within the provided time of the project,
2. The student will make the required research aimed at the subject of the Project.
3. In direction of data obtained at the end of researches, the student will make the sketches in line with concept of the Project.
4. The student will make the visualization and presentation of the design in computer media with the support of 2D computer software of the chosen sketches,
5. Jury evaluation will be performed by considering research and sketch files, design sheet print outs brought by the student and defend of the student.

Assessment Criteria

1. The student must design innovative, original and creative fashion accessory products in accordance with the purpose of the project within the time given for the project.
2. It is necessary to carry out the required research on the subject of the project.
3. It is necessary to make sketches in line with the concept of the project subject in line with the data obtained as a result of the research.
4. The design of the selected sketches must be visualized and presented in the computer environment with the support of 2D computer software.
5. Research and sketch files and design sheet printouts must be brought to the jury evaluation and defended by the student.

Course Policies and Rules

1. Attendance to 80% of classes is compulsory.
2. All kinds of plagiarizing attempt results in actual disciplinary punishment.
3. The student is obliged to prepare the Project in accordance with design principles and complying with the aim, period and Schedule of the Project. The student, who completes the Project successfully by attending the classes, gets a passing grade.
