Course Objective

This course will focus on management of export and import operations and decision making. The aim of this course is to increase the knowledge of students about concepts of export and import operations that include potential benefits of export and import operations, export market entry modes and strategies, export and import financing, export and import order and physical distribution, documentation of export and import operations.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Students will be able to demonstrate that they understand the process of export and import operations to recognize the benefits and pitfalls of them.
2   2. Students will be able to formulate procedures of export and import operations in different industries to ultimately manage this function on behalf of a company
3   3. Students will be able to understand export and import documentation in different industries to prepare accurate documents.
4   4. Students will be able to understand the various policy instruments that government use to restrict imports and promote exports to understand how to forecast and manage external factors that affect the export and import operations by discussing real life examples.

Assessment Criteria

1. The learner will clearly describe the export and import operations, and key concepts such as negative and positive sides of exporting and importing, the current situation of Türkiye s exporting and importing structure, documentation of exporting and importing in assignments and term project.
2. The learner will collect, analyze and interpret the current and future export and import statistics.
3. The learner will present the solution of real life problems that are presented by instructor in written and oral form.

1. Plagiarism of any type will result in disciplinary action.
2. Attending at least 70 percent of lectures is mandatory.
3. All assignments should be submitted on time. Otherwise will not be accepted.
