Course Objective

The aim of this course is to teach the students the history of Turkish Art of Tiling; especially to teach them, theoretically and practically, the general features of the form and ornamentation techniques in accordance with their periods.

1   know the form and pattern features in Turkish Art of Tiling,
2   know the ornamentation techniques in Turkish Art of Tiling
3   learn the technical features of different techniques,
4   apply different techniques by different interpretations
5   prepare a project and present it.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

This course will be done both theoretically and practical. Practices will be focused on the Ceramic-Tiles in Seljuk period. The results will be discussed in the class.

Assessment Criteria

The course will be evaluated by a mid-term, a project and a laboratory study.
