Course Objective

To transfer the theoretical and practical knowledge about the use os application, development and infrastructure of the biomedical devices used in orthopedic surgery.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Having information about the devices and equipment used in the surgical procedure.
2   Examination of Clinical orthopedics in terms of biomedical engineering
3   Having the knowledge and skills about device design and development.
4   Having the ability to use biomedical engineering devices and equipment related to orthopedics
5   Medical device design and R & D activities.

1 Introduction to Biomedical Engineering Biomedical Device Concept The definition of biomedical devices, classification and principles Techniques used In biomedical device design and manufacturing Biyomedical Engineering Products: Patents, Rules, Recent Developments.
2 Biomedical devices used for production materials and techniques, usage areas, The mechanical aspects of biological orthopedic devices investigation Biomechanics, bioinstrumentation, the Biomedical devices.
3 Technological needs, design-science methods The technical aspects of biomedical devices Characterization and Analysis R & D infrastructure of biomedical devices Implants used in biomaterials and cells interactions and immune responses to tissue
