Course Objective

The aim is to support the students with their artistic studies in academic level for the field they want to specialize, and have them work on designs and practices in addition to the Certificate Study course.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   have the knowledge about the historical improvement of Illumination Art
2   branch out in accordance with the features of Illumination Art in centuries,
3   analyze the existing samples of Illumination Art in centuries,
4   make charcoal designs of analyzed illumination samples on a sketch,
5   have efficiency in accordance with the usage of motifs and compositions, used in Illumination Art, in different art branches.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

After scanning books and articles and visual materials about the subject to be worked on, personal field subject about the Illumination Art will be analyzed from the point of art; original designs will be made in accordance with the selected subject.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

The students studies are evaluated as a project and they will perform these studies before a jury. Their presentation performance and studies will be evaluated separately.

Assessment Criteria

The project and the presentation will be evaluated out of 100 separately.

Course Policies and Rules

The compulsory attendance is 80%.
Before the end of the term, in the last 15 days, students will be able to learn their attendance. Students having absenteeism over 80% won t be accepted to the final exam.
Students who come to the class until 5 minutes late after the course starts may attend the lesson. But the ones coming later may not. Even if they attend the course, they will be considered absent. Absentee is checked every 2 hours.
At the end of each course, the next lesson s subject is given to the students as study and research subject. So, students come to the next lesson ready.
