Course Objective |
The main aim of the course is to introduceThe Ottoman Era courtly fabrics , to analyse many composition elements in their designs and to create new and contemporary designs, using their charecteristics, while being true to basic textile design parameters. |

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods |
After giving basic knowledge on textile design in general, design abstractions will be carried out, derived from natural objects. Courtly fabric design compositions are closelly analyised in order to gain a basic insight into stylistic conventions of selected historical epochs |

Further Notes About Assessment Methods |
The course is mainly practical. But it is also theoretically supported. In the practical side, workshops are carried out. The students are expected to present their respective projects. At the end of each semester. |
Assessment Criteria |
All the work carried out by the student will be evaluated as a single Project, to be presented to a jury. Student s performance during presentation and his/her work will be evaluated seperately. |
