Course Objective |
The aim of this course is to teach the students to design the motifs used in Ottoman Palace Carpets and the carpets whose knot rate is high. |

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods |
The instructor informs the students about palace carpets in Ottoman period and the development and features of Hereke carpets. He also instructs the motifs used in palace carpets in Ottoman period and their features with examples as well as their usages in compositions. The students are asked to make original carpet patterns using these motifs after seeing the applied samples on carpets, which they are familiar with in Turkish Patterns course. |

The theoretical knowledge learned during the term is evaluated by the midterm exam (%30) and the design works by the end-of-term jury (%70). |

Theoretical knowledge is assessed by the midterm exam held in the middle of the term. |
