Course Objective

To learn toxic mechanisms of medicines, to classificate the toxic medicine types and to have knowledge about general specialities of toxins, to determine the toxic potantials of medicines, to learn the toxic effects medicines, to learn diagnosis of medicine poisonings, to learn treatment principles of medicine poisonings, and to convey information about poisonings of medicines systematically.

Course Contents

1 Basic principals of medicine poisonings, medicines that cause poisonings and toxidroms
2 Poisonings of analgesics and anti-inflamatory medicines
3 Poisonings of anti-infective agents
4 Poisonings of cardiovascular system medicines (poisonings with beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers and the other antihypertensive agents)
5 Poisonings of cardiovascular system medicines (poisonings with cardiac glycosides)
6 Poisonings of cardiovascular system medicines (poisonings with antiarrhythmics)
7 Poisonings of antidepressants (poisonings with TCAs and SSRIs)
8 Poisonings of antidepressants (poisonings with MAO inhibitors and lithiums)
9 Poisonings of anticonvulsants
10 Poisonings of neuroleptics
11 Poisonings of sedative-hypnotics
12 Poisonings of endocrine medicines
13 Poisonings of respiratory system medicines and haemopoietic system medicines (anticoagulants, trombolytics and antifibrinolytics)
14 Small doses of medications that cause poisoning in children
