Understanding fundamental approaches and concepts of philosophy of science.

Course Contents

1 Discussion of knowledge and epistemology. Fundamental problems of epistemology. categories of knowledge. Norms of scientifical knowledge.
2 Historical development of scientific knowledge in Europe after enlightenment. 19th century Europe and value of scientific knowledge.
3 Philosophy of science: definition and discussions. Pionieers of philosophy of science: Henri Poincare, Pierre Duhem and Alexandre Koyre.
4 Vienna circle: logic of scientific research and methodology: Karl Popper and Imre Lakatos.
5 elevatory approachs on scientific knowledge: Robert merton and his norms of science.
6 Dogmatism on scientific knowledge: Thomas Khun. anarchism of scientific knowledge: Paul Fayareband.
7 Pierre Bourdieu andsocial uses of science. Questioning of scientific knowledge: sociology of scientific knowledge.
8 Scientific knowledge and ideology.
9 Scientific epistemologic community.
10 Discussion of science in art/art in science.
11 Concept of ethic and approaches on theory of ethic.
12 Scientific ethic and history of scientific ethic.
13 Process of research and publication ethics: content and fundamental problems.
14 Process of research and publication ethics: content and fundamental problems.
