Course Objective

The purpose of this lesson is to give the introductions about main principles of editing and audio technologies in cinema and tv productions, and be up to date about its theory and practice of editing and sound design. To give information about microphones, digital audio recorders, audio mixers, booms and digital editing equipments. The students practice about how to use these equipments in editing digital media and sounds. The main process is having experience about video editing, sounds, music, dubbing, audio effects and etc.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Having ability to choose the actual editing and audio recording techniques and equipments of a film production
2   Having ability to choose equipments on editing and audio recording and mixing also using them
3   Having a good comprehension of terminology of editing and audio techniques
4   Having ability to use editing and secondary equipments of audio recorders
5   Having ability to choose the plans and arrange them to edit a scene or a sequence
6   Having ability to use all secondary editing and audio recording equipments and accessories
7   Having ability and experience on editing and sound design also audio recording, mixing and dubbing techniques to create images and audios for documentaries, clips, commercials and fiction movies

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The lecturer leads the students to create film projects, and make them to practice and get experience in sample projects.
Every week at first and last lesson of the course the lecturer review the projects and inform about new technologies, advice to practice in tv studio process and etc.
The lecturer promotes the students for attending the lesson and creating and improving own projects

Practices
The students will be informed with a sample project which they can learn about practicing their own projects.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

1- Each student will practice a project which he/she can use different editing and audio mixing software and systems.
2- Each student may design shoots which using editing and audio recording with secondary equipments in a creative way.
3- The points rating methods which earned on attending will be defined a) attending the lessons b) the capability of students and level of projects c)the subscription of the student to create an efficient study condition.

Assessment Criteria

The attending and capability of perception and talent in projects and lessons will be the main criteria of assessment.

Course Policies and Rules

1- It is bound to attend the 70% of lessons per each term.
2- Not attending the lessons is not to be evaluated as a valid excuse for delivering the projects after expiring date
3- The point of assessment will increase as a letter per each day of expired date
