Course Objective

To learn the theories and processes of marriage counseling, to resolve conflicts in family relations, to understand mediation and negotiation processes and to apply the skills of conflict resolution with individual, group, family, divorce negotiation and mediation.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understanding the nature of marriage and divorce processes
2   Understanding mediation and negotiation skills and transferring them to family counseling processes
3   Application of mediation and negotiation skills in marriage counseling
4   To be able to transfer emotion control, conflict and relationship management to individual and group family counseling
5   Ability to develop ethical practices compatible with Turkish culture
