Course Objective

In this course, which will examine the relations between the army and the political institution in Türkiye from the past to the present, the place of the army in the history of Turkish modernization, its interventions in politics, the view of the politicians to the army and the attitude of the Turkish people to the army-politics relationship will be revealed.

3   To be able to reveal Military Coups and Their Effects on Democracy.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

To review the weekly subjects together with the students after the subjects are re-outlined by the lecturer, based on the pre-course reading process done by the students, and also to encourage the students to make a short presentation on a subject they prefer during the semester (if possible).
