Course Objective

To acknowledge the Students of Composition and Orchestral Conductor of the Art Dept. about the major variaties of the Traditional Turkish Art Music, patterns, tonal system, branches, repertoire, melody structure and important composers and also, during the composing process, also to highlight about using it as a tool and to apply it during the composing process

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To comprehend the melodical structure and tonal system of our traditional art music
2   To be able to provie the necessity of the rhytm of this type of music and the course of this type,
3   Being able to correctly define the form structure,
4   . To be able to analyse the important examples of the Traditional Art Music with the method of resolution,
5   Being able to understand the variaties of the lyrical and musical instrumentals and the important instruments and their orchestral works,
6   To earn and apply practical solutions on how to play the melody on piano and how to avoid possible troubles,
7   To apply the knowledge of whole Traditional Art Music on composing studies while advancing research methadologies.

The Lecture is given, by the lecturer, theoritically with the related basics about Traditional Turkish Art Music while benefitting from the scientific resources while comparing directly.

Homeworks:
Homeworks consist of theoritical written works of the content of the course itself and encourage students to make research on different resources.
