Course Objective

To acknowledge the Students of Composition and Orchestral Conductor of the Art Dept. about the Main variaties of Traditional Turkish Art Music, its methods, aspects and the structure of melody, also to highlight about using it as a tool and to apply it during the composing process.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To comprehend the melodical structure of our Traditional Art Music,
2   To be able to provide the necessary rythm of this type of music,
3   Being able to correctly define the form structure,
4   To be able to analyse the important examples of the Traditional Turkish Art Music with the method of resolution,
5   Being able to understand the variaties of the lyrical and musical instrumentals and the important instruments and their orchestral works,
6   To apply practical solutions on how to play our traditional turkish art music on piano and avoiding possible troubles,
7   To apply the knowledge of whole Traditional Art Music on composing studies while advancing research methadologies.

The Lecture is given, by the lecturer, theoritically with the related basics about Traditional Turkish Art Music while benefitting from the scientific resources while comparing directly.

Homeworks:
Homeworks consist of theoritical written works of the content of the course itself and encourage students to make research on different resources.
