Course Objective

Students will be able to analyze concepts of culture, popular culture and discuss these through television shows, programs, commercials and films.

1   To analyze various fieids of communication regarding popular culture
2   To study and analyze the social aspects of popular culture products
3   To be able to use the information on popular culture products within the context of cultural diversity.
4   To be able to comprehend the effects of popular culture on audiences.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Course is not geared towards memorization but rather encourages students to debate among themselves with examples and analization, including visual and verbal communication. Students are to develop critical thinking and analyzing skills based on reading materials.They are also required to participate in class.
