Course Objective

To learn typefacedesign process and generate a typeface design on computer. On this purpose to learn Typeface Designer and Foundries. Objective of the course to generate a typeface in digital media and introduce it on the printed mediums.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to have the knowledge of typeface design, produce and marketing and use it in practice
2   To be able to follow up the contemporary typeface designers and typeface designs
3   To be able to have the software knowledge related to the typeface design
4   To be able to finish tehir designs on time and peresent them in a creative and an unexpected way

1 Introduction meeting and setting the purpose of the course
2 Project I: Typeface Design To interview from typeface design that is brought by students. Application project is developed by students.
3 Critic on sketches.
4 Critic on sketches.
5 Choosing a sketch and transfering to computer or make a model.
6 Generate the design in typeface design program.
7 Generate the design in typeface design program.
8 Critic on completed design.
9 Project II: Specimen Booklet Design Designed a booklet that identifies the font design.
10 Critic on sketches.
11 Critic on sketches.
12 Finishing design. Presentation, critic and jury.
13 Project III: Specimen Poster Design Designed a poster that identifies the font design.
14 Finishing design. Presentation, critic and jury.
