Course Objective

To gain adequate knowledge of tumor and normal tissue radiobiology and its clinical implications in order to understand the basis of diagnostic and treatment strategies in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation Oncology

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to comprehend the basis of tumor and normal tissue radiobiology;
2   Demonstrate a basic understanding of the interaction of different drugs used in cancer treatment with radiotherapy and ability to understand how this interaction affects tumor and normal tissue radiosensitivity
3   Demonstrate a basic understanding of the radiobiological basis of different treatment strategies used in radiotherapy;
4   Ability to implement radiobiological knowledge to the diagnostic and therapeutic applications of ionizing radiation
