Course Objective |
This course reviews the current state of the Turkish economy with a specific emphasis on its history and structural and institutional change. A broad account of the Ottoman economic legacy, pre-and post-Great Depression Turkish economy, different policies of the pre-liberalization era, and the economic developments during the period between 1980 and present are the subjects that will be covered during the semester to provide a basis to understand the current state of the Turkish economy. |

There will be two in-class (or take-home) examinations and students are expected to write a term paper. Students are expected to come up with a topic by the end of the third week of the semester. |

1. The student will demostrate understanding of current events in Turkish economy using relevant theoretical tools. |
