Course Objective

The objective is to introduce advanced macroeconomic topics such as, new trends in macroeconomic theory and policies in a global economic framework. Students are assumed to be equipped with the basic principles and analytical tools of macroeconomics such that they can make analysis on the major economic issues and problems.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Discuss complex macroeconomic policy issues and relate these discussions with general economic arguments.
2   Distinguish between alternative ways of analysing economic growth
3   Assess the aggregation problems associated with the interface between micro assumptions and macro
4   Apply models of economic fluctuations.
