Course Objective

Investigate physiotherapy assessment methods in neurologic diseases, develop disease
specific treatment methods.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knows central and peripheral nevre system diseases.
2   Knows physiotherapy assessment according to neorologic system pathologies
3   Knows physiotherapy methods that using for nevre system pathologies
4   At the end of the course student will be able to define evidence based physiotherapy approaches in neurological problems.
5   At the end of the course student will be able to define actual physiotherapy approaches in neurological problems.

1 Examination of the structures of Central and peripheral nerve system: hemispheres, brain stem, thalamus, hypothalamus, spinal cord
2 Examination of the structures of Central and peripheral nerve system: hemispheres, brain stem, thalamus, hypothalamus, spinal cord
3 Examination of the structures and importance of Central nerve system in motor control
4 Examination of the structures and importance of peripheral nerve system in motor control
5 Examination of the structures and importance of musculoskeletal system in motor control
6 Motor learning
7 Symptoms in disorders of the nerve system: lower and upper motor neuron diseases
8 Neurologic axamination: assessment of the cognition, respiration, motor and sensory system
9 Neurologic axamination: assessment of the mobility, walking and transfers
10 Neurologic axamination: assessment of the diagnostic and labratory examination methods
11 Physical therapy assessment and treatment methods in pyramidal system disorders-I
