Course Objective

The aim of the course is to examine crisis intervention models, cognitive-behaviourist therapies, psycho-educational and motivational interventions, dynamics of group and individual psychotherapy, and the characteristics of the therapist together with focusing on the principles of supportive therapeutic interventions towards the adults, children, teenagers and families with psychosocial and psychiatric problems.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Ability to analyze theories and models that explain the concepts of psychotherapeutic intervention.
2   2. Critically evaluate therapeutic intervention practices of mental health and psychiatric nurses in the world and in Turkey
3   3. Knowing the psychotherapeutic interventions used in mental health and psychiatric nursing

1 Therapeutic elements in group and individual therapies: Hopefulness, universality, group commitment, catharsis.
