Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide knowledge and skills to the students about nursing care which applied for the prevention of female reproductive cancers, early diagnosis and treatment, rehabilitation, home care services. And also, developing innovative care strategies for women with gynecological cancer is aimed.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To know risk factors, prevention and screening methods in gynecologic cancers.
2   To determine nursing care priorities of women have gynecological cancer and use them while preparing a case report.
3   To discuss the importance of early diagnosis, treatment and home care services in gynecologic cancers.
4   To provide evidence-based information about nursing approaches and solutions of the health problems of women with gynecological cancer.
5   To develop innovative health care strategies for caring environments by using scientific research methods according to health problems of women with gynecological cancer.

Assessment Criteria

Projects or homework assignments will be presented by the student and the content, skills and performance of the presentation will be evaluated.
It is expected that the presentation contents will be prepared in accordance with the most up-to-date international care guidelines and the information obtained will be linked to professional nursing.
The students are expected to make clinical observations related to subject of the course and brought a case example and participate in discussion, brain storming and role play according to this case.
