Course Objective

The aim of this course is to transfer the personal experiences in medical biology and genetics and researching to PhD students, to improve their abilities in following current achievements, interpreting, discussing, recording and presenting scientific data, and to teach them the scientific and ethical rules. Aim is to support them to be independent researchers.

1   Knows how to reach the information sources in specified field
2   Follows current improvements and the literature in his/her specified field
3   Writes scientific articles in Turkish and English in his/her specified field
4   Reads and tells scientific articles in a foreign language
5   Has ability to make scientific questioning
6   Collects information from different recourses and analyse
7   Can chose and apply correct statistical methods
8   Knows and applies national and international occupational, ethic and legal regulations in the field
9   Shares the knowledge and innovations in the field with colleagues and science circle. Transfers knowledge and innovations to population
10   Owns the responsibility of life time learning and self assessment

Assessment Criteria

Course attendance and completion of home works and projects are required. Student s projects presenting followed current literature and new achievements and their abilities to evaluate and interpret innovations, and their ability of independent researching will be quantified.
