Course Objective

Seminars and lectures for exploration of the emergence of Turkish Graphic Humor under the technological and social evolution.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To learn the origin story and the history of Turkish graphic humor tradition
2   To be aware of the possibility to fallow the traces of political and socio-cultural paradigms on analogical graphic humor samples, which become the spirits of their ages
3   To gain expertise on creative thinking and unique idea development
4   To be a self-promoting and self-reliant designer and entrepreneur
5   To gain expertise on production techniques of Turkish graphic humor
6   To gain expertise for applying graphic storytelling techniques
7   To have a masters vision to read and evaluate caricature and graphic humor piece
8   To get carrier guidance for illustrators

Two elaborately illustrated and accurate paper shall be prepared and a seminar shall be given

Assessment Criteria

The Participants fallow the academic seminars on the evolution of Turkish graphic humor and join the discussions. Further more, each participant prepares two elaborately illustrated academic papers, which are related with the course, in one semester. Afterwards They chose one of these seminars and prepare a presentation derived from this research. Originality and participation shall be awarded. Trickery and plagiarism are absolutely forbidden and shall be punishable by any academic means
