Course Objective

To concretize the effect of colour in sculpture and its place through practices; to discuss uniqueness in sculpture through colour.
(In this course;Practice is made on bringing forth the relationship between form and colour, in the context of using coloured material and paint on the art of sculpture. Research is to be made about the function of colour in sculpture and its effects, thus individual possibilities of expression is researched through three-dimensional coloured works. The artistic problems arising from the use of colour in the presented sculptures are to be discussed.)

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1- Verbal Expression,
2- Expression through visual presentation,
3- To put into practice the existing knowledge about colour in sculpture through practices,
4- To make assesments following observation of the works by a lecturer(teacher) during these practices,
5- In the assesments, students are to share their knowledge, ideas and arising problems related to their experiences of their own work,
6- Discussion of the conclusions emerged from the practices/experiements.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

Developmental sssesment methods are based on supporting the student to comprehend/understand and express this outlook of subject matters. The student is encouraged to attend classes as relevant as possible, as well as the consistent and active communication between the lecturer and the student is to be planned under the guidance of the lecturer. Initially main themes are explored in the course .Researchs are made in practical ways. In the assesments, students are to express their knowledge, ideas and arising problems related to their experiences of their own work.

Assessment Criteria

The student must 1- continually attend the classes,
2- To activelly be involved in the course,
3- The work he/she undertakes in the context of the course; must be of high quality in terms of technique and artistry
4- The student shall be able to express himself verbally through his work (research),
5- To be able to discuss when necessary, with the knowledge he gains,
6- To assess and locate his/her own works.

Course Policies and Rules

The student must 1- Attend at least %80 of the lecture,
2- Comply with the pre-arranged callender during the lessons,
3- To provide the necessary tools and materials to be used in the practices,
4- To have certain level of knowledge on the topic of colour in sculpture.
