Course Objective

In this course students are in the process, the basic statistical concepts and techniques of scientific research achievements will receive the recognition and use.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Scientific Research: Understanding the importance of statistical methods.
2   Basic statistical information.
3   Recognize and use of statistical measures
4   To use statistical package programs.
5   Scientific research to choose the appropriate statistical techniques.
6   Tables to show the findings of statistical analysis techniques.
7   Using statistical techniques
8   To interpret the findings of scientific research.

Course Contents

1 Statistics and Research: Basic Concepts (variable, population, sample, etc.)
2 Accumulation, distribution and dimensions of the relationship overview.
3 Computer use and applications of statistics: SPSS (data entry, program, operating system)
4 Statistical Measures: Relationship Dimensions (simple and partial correlation)
5 Statistical Measures: Relationship Dimensions (simple linear regression analysis)
6 Some of the statistics used in analysis of reliability and validity of the tests.
7 Mid-term exam
8 Structural equation model: Confirmatory Factor Analysis (LISREL computer program)
9 Testing Differences Between Means: T-Tests
10 Testing Differences Between Means: The F tests (two-factor anova)
11 Testing Differences Between Means: The F tests (two-factor ANOVA for repeated measures mixed)
12 Single-factor analysis of covariance.
13 Statistics and Research: Basic Concepts (variable, population, sample, etc.)
14 Differences Between Means Testing: Post-Hoc Multiple Comparison Tests. Nonparametric Tests: Chi-square, U, C, and Wilcoxson Tests. Computer Software Packages outcomes reporting.
15 Final exam
