Course Objective

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Introduction to social concepts, having knowledge on the relation of social structure with art and design.
2   Learning and evaluating the individual and social reflections of cultural memory on visual communication design.
3   Knowing and applying the role of visual communication in the process of transforming abstract cultural concepts into concrete signs.
4   Concretizing thoughts with symbols and applying to design.
5   Describing concepts such as belief, mythology, oral culture by combining with visual communication and practicing them in the design process.
6   Having interdisciplinary knowledge by using innovative design solutions and including them in the practices.
7   Transferring professional, ethical and social responsibilities to design practices.
8   Developing aesthetic concerns and suggestions for solutions during the preparation of designs created using symbols.
