Course Objective

The aim of the course is help students to gain knowledge about the burial traditions in Anatolia in the 3rd millennium BC. in chronological and regional terms within the scope of grave types, grave goods and ceremonies.

1   Intorduce students the 3rd Millennium BC. Cemeteries in Anatolia.
2   Recognizing Tomb Types in Anatolia in the 3rd Millennium BC.
3   Obtaining Anthropological Data Regarding Tombs in Anatolia in the 3rd Millennium BC.
4   Learning Burial Traditions and Rituals in 2nd Millennium BC. Anatolia in the Light of Written Sources.
5   Comparing Burial Traditions Differences between Regional and Surrounding Cultures in 3rd Millennium BC. Anatolia.
