Course Objective

It is to help students understand the concepts and practices of ethical thought, to adopt the rules of ethics, to become aware of the need to use and follow them, what they are, how they are formed and how behavior in the business world is affected by them. To ensure that businesses understand the need to develop and maintain relationships with their stakeholders in line with business ethics and social responsibility and learn the ways, methods and tools.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explain the concepts of ethics, morality, business ethics and corporate social responsibility and understand the relationship between them.
2   To be able to explain organizational and individual factors affecting the ethical decision-making process.
3   To be able to define ethical standards and to create and question the business ethics and social responsibility policies of businesses.
4   To understand the role of business ethics and social responsibilities of business organizations in creating and developing corporate identity.
5   Necessitate information and acquire needed information
6   Build, develop, apply and assess the results of a method to solve a problem within a scientific research context

Assessment Criteria

Students are evaluated based on their participation in class discussions, presentation of midterm and final assignments, and seminar participation, as well as midterm and final exams.

Rules related to midterm and final exams are: Questions are not general but specific, case study analyses should be made by using of proper terminology. Following points will be considered on this matter. Ability to use terminology properly, degree of consistency between cause and effect relationships of concepts. The solution to the problems should be well grounded, scientific, logical and convincing. Readings related to the course and having a grasp of the topics are important.
